WeAgenda (2020)

The objectives of this programme are (i) to promote the emergence of strong businesswomen organizations through Afrawe network to transform Africa through delivering African strategy providing business incubation support to enhancing non-state actors, private sector & civil society to contribute to sustainable development: (ii) to provide the tools and techniques for reducing or eliminating these barriers and for leveraging the vast untapped economic potential represented by women-owned businesses. For many women, entrepreneurship offers a path to economic empowerment and it is incumbent upon corporations to help create conditions that permit this focusing on trade and procurement opportunities. This include (i) securing a trade finance guarantee scheme of USD $20 million, that is designed to incentivise large buyers to give more opportunities & trade finance facility providers to provide more flexible financing to women owned or led businesses acting as suppliers or distributors (ii) processing branding support and distribution; Leverage on and support linkages between SMEs and large enterprises as part of CSR; Develop mechanisms for role model and mentorship; Promote intra-African and international trade; …
The Women Trade Hubs are about to runs several programmes to be trained in tender procedures, to play a role in dispersing information and to match women entrepreneurs with potential buyers in specific market sectors, such as textiles, agriculture and packaging and labelling. It includes also an online platform, events and webinars for networking and skills development. Hosting permanent policy dialogue in to develop framework to support the women-owned businesses in trade and public procurement.
